Units of Study for Compacted 6/7
Unit 1: Rational Numbers & Equations Students apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. They use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. Students learn to solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations. Unit 2: Proportions & Probability In this course, students analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems. They use random sampling to draw inferences about a population. And draw informal comparative inferences about two populations. Unit 3: Shapes & Angles Students draw, construct and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them in this course. They solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measures, areas, surface areas, and volume. Grading Policy: 80% Unit Tests 10% Quizzes, Performance Tasks, and Projects 10% Daily Work All unit tests can be retaken by following the appropriate process of test corrections, and making a plan of action for improvement on the assessment retake.Units |
